User Data Deletion
Last updated: May 25, 2026
You can delete your Innervu account and the personal data associated with it at any time. There are two ways to do this.
Option 1 — Self-serve in the app
- Sign in at innervu.com.
- Students: go to Profile and scroll to the “Danger zone” section at the bottom.
Employers: go to Settings and scroll to the “Danger zone” section at the bottom. - Click “Delete my account” and confirm by typing your name.
- We will sign you out and remove your account immediately. A short audit record is kept (see retention below).
Option 2 — Email request
If you can’t sign in, or you would rather we handle the deletion, email us from the address or WhatsApp number registered on your Innervu account:
- Send to: privacy@innervu.com
- Subject: Delete my account
- Body: the email address, phone number, or full name on the account so we can locate it.
We will confirm receipt within 7 days and complete the deletion within 30 days.
What gets deleted
- Your profile fields (name, contact details, education, experience, preferences).
- Documents you uploaded (CV, transcripts, internship letters, cover letters).
- WhatsApp conversation history with the Innervu account.
- Your application history and any interview offers tied to your profile.
- Your sign-in credentials (Firebase Auth user record).
What we keep (and why)
- Audit logs — a short record that an account with your anonymised ID existed and was deleted on a given date. Used to detect abuse and satisfy our employer no-redistribution policy. Retained for 12 months.
- Payment records — for employers and marketers, EcoCash transaction records. Retained for up to 6 years to comply with Zimbabwean tax and accounting law.
These retained records do not contain your full profile, documents, or message contents. They are not used for any new processing once your account is deleted.
